Friends,
Anti-LGBTQ activists have officially cleared the signature threshold to place Initiatives 109 and 110 on the November 2026 ballot. These measures represent a coordinated effort to strip away the rights of transgender Coloradans and insert political overreach into private medical, family, and school decisions.
Initiative 109 seeks to ban transgender students from participating in school sports consistent with their gender identity. This opens the door to invasive inspections and humiliating scrutiny that risk the safety and well-being of all Colorado children. Initiative 110 would restrict access to certain health care for transgender people, taking decisions away from families and the doctors they trust.
Now that these measures have qualified for the ballot, voters should know what’s at stake. Coloradans have always valued individual freedom and the rights of families to make private decisions without political interference, but these measures would go against those core values. One could expose students to invasive inspections just to play sports, while the other would place politicians between families and their doctors in deeply personal health care decisions. That kind of government overreach puts privacy and dignity at risk and doesn’t align with our Colorado values.
We are defending the fundamental right for families in Colorado to make personal and private medical decisions with their doctors and without fear of government interference. We are prepared to mobilize every corner of this state to tell the powerful personal stories of Coloradans who oppose these measures and to ensure that these harmful measures are defeated.
