You’re invited to the HEART OF THE FARM DINNER!
My wife, Claudia, and I have been founding members of this organization for 14+ years and have seen it through some lean and more successful years. We have carefully grown this non-profit from at request of Dennis and Bailey, the owners of Happy Heart Farm. They were providing farm shares to families in need and wanted to do more for the community.
Since Dennis and Bailey retired, the organization has changed its name to The Vegetable Connection and works with six CSA (Community Supporting Agriculture) farms in Northern Colorado. It connect families in need with these farms on a sliding scale subsidy.
We are also growing that network of farms, who are paid at market rates, as part of our resilience efforts. The organization has only two part time employees, an Executive Director, Nicole, and a Program Manager, Jill.
Our Mission
Improve Northern Colorado’s food resilience by supporting families in need with increased access to nutritious vegetables from our partner farms and nutrition education.
Our Values
We have built our organization on the following values:
My accomplished cajon (hand drum) player friend, Kyle, and I will be playing music for
the occasion. We hope you’ll support us by joining
the festivities!
