CDC’s Dylan George explains ways to forecast pandemics

CSU alumnus Dylan George, operations director of the CDC’s new Center for Forecasting and Outbreak Analytics, discussed the centers’ efforts to forecast pandemics on Oct. 19 at the Canvas Stadium Club. Story here.

Darragh Heaslip, new BioMARC director


Darragh Heaslip is the new director of CSU’s Biopharmaceutical Manufacturing and Academic Resource Center (BioMARC). His experience in biosafety, production and technology transfer equips him to oversee the biopharmaceutical manufacturing operation. Story here

Rebecca Moritz

Rebecca Moritz named president of ABSA 


Effective Oct. 17, CSU Biosafety Director Rebecca Moritz was named president for the Association for Biosafety and Biosecurity. In her new role, she facilitates the exchange of biosafety information across global industries. 

Hui Wang

Hui Wang named new director of OSP


Hui Wang comes to CSU from Stanford with more than 20 years of managerial experience in academic institutions. He looks forward to further positioning the Office of Sponsored Programs as a strength of the CSU research enterprise.

Nov. 1: CWD conference registration open


Registration for the 4th Annual Chronic Wasting Disease conference is open. The event will take place on May 30, 2023, at the Denver Sheraton. Register here.

Nov 3: One Health Day  


The CSU One Health Institute will celebrate One Health Day on Nov. 3, from 4-7 p.m. at the CSU Stadium Club. Attendees will hear from one health researchers followed by a keynote address from CSU Warner College of Natural Resources Dean Alonso Aguirre. Register here

Nov 16: GradShow 2022 keynote speaker 


Nalini Nadkarni, a professor of biology at the University of Utah, will be the keynote presenter at CSU’s Grad Show 2022. Nadkarni will address modern societal issues at 4 p.m., Nov. 16, in the LSC theater. Learn more.

Nov. 18: Deadline for REACH Energy Accelerator 


Regional Energy Accelerator for Commercializing Hardtech is accepting applications for their program supporting founders, entrepreneurs and university faculty with resources to commercialize their prototypes into products and services with global impact. Apply here

CSU Institutional Review Board office hours 


The CSU IRB office holds office hours Tuesday afternoons from 12:00-1:30 p.m. via Teams. This is an opportunity for researchers to discuss their protocol submissions and to get answers to any questions they may have about the plans for their studies.
