A letter from our Chief Executive Officer:

Dear friends,

As we head into the Fall season, the CCLP team is busy preparing for 2025. Through high level strategy conversations with our Board, visits to the White House (go Bethany!) and discussions with community partners about the upcoming legislatuve session, we're gearing up for a big year. More to come as our plans coalesce, but in the meantime I'm sending gratitude to you all for your support, engagement, and committment to a Colorado where everyone has what they need to thrive.

With gratitude for this community,

Lydia McCoy

Chief Executive Officer

As part of the Coloradans for Smart Justice Coalition, CCLP is opposing two ballot measures:

  • Proposition 128 - Parole Eligibility for Crimes of Violence - If passed, this misguided measure would undermind Colorado's current parole system. It would unjustly punish those who have worked hard to rehabilitate themselves while incarcerated nd have proven they are ready to return home.
  • Proposition 130 - Funding for Law Enforcement - If passed, it would divert $350 million away from the state general fund exclusively to fund traditional law enforcement officers only. Colorado alreadt allocates more funding to law enforcement per capita than 75% of states in the U.S.

Several of our partner organizations have created ballot guides to better understand what each measure is proposing. Check them out here:
