Hello Carin,
Hope you are well these post-election days and that you had a chance to spend time outside today. While running along the Poudre Trail, there was a magnificent red-tail hawk perched on a branch above the trail near the McMurray Bridge and of course Grey Eastern Screech Owl remained poised and vigilant in her/his nest/tree. Screech has carved a perfect fit in the hole that is her/his lookout. Regarding the East Vine Drive county property, we had a 11/1 ribbon cutting ceremony at the new fleet services facility on East CR 30 near the Humane Society, and it will be open for business on Tuesday, 11/12. There remains equipment, vehicles and materials that need to be moved and not sure when this process will be completed - probably soon. Regarding the proposed land swap with FC, there is tangible progress. The most recent 3rd party appraisals of the two properties have gotten us closer to agreement on the property values, and it all goes well, we hope for an agreement on the details of the land swap before the end of next year. I've discussed the RMRP's continued interest in the county property with Lorenda, and we both agree that it may be best to wait until 2025 to reach out directly to Kelly Dimartino so we can advance the process more. Lorenda met with Kelly on Friday to discuss this matter and others so we should have a better sense of where the City is at with the appraisals and the process. Lorenda was going to mention to the City Manager your interest in the property. If you have questions, please reach out to Lorenda, and take good care.
