I’m writing to share an important update on how IT is evolving to support your department or Elected Office, specifically regarding changes to the Business Relationship Manager (BRM) role.
Over the past few years, our relationships with departments across the county have grown significantly. We greatly appreciate the BRMs and the role they have played in improving our alignment and streamlining our connection to the county. As our teams have matured and our customer partnerships have strengthened, the way we support and stay connected with you has naturally evolved. The BRM role was originally created to help build and maintain those relationships, and we’ve recently taken time to reassess how the role is functioning today.
Through this evaluation, we listened closely to feedback from both customers, county leadership and internal teams. A clear theme emerged: departments need more support with smaller efforts, better intake coordination, and a simpler, more direct path to the right IT resources. In addition, the demand for business analysis and project work continues to grow across the organization.
Based on this feedback and the county’s changing needs, we have determined that three BRMs are no longer required to effectively serve the organization. Moving forward, the BRM function will be consolidated into a single role, which will be fulfilled by Ali Whitcomb. This change allows us to reallocate resources to deliver faster intake responses, stronger project support, and more hands-on assistance across departments. Kristen Dasko and Erica Wagner have moved from BRM positions into Project Management and Business Analyst positions respectfully within our department to align with those changing needs..
We also recognize that many of you have developed strong working relationships with our BRM staff over the years, and that any change to those relationships can feel significant. We value the trust and collaboration built with your teams and are committed to ensuring that the transition is handled with care. Our customers remain at the center of everything we do, and this adjustment is intended to strengthen—not diminish—the way you engage with IT.
Please continue working with your current BRM for now. We will reach out to each department individually to discuss the transition and next steps in more detail. In the meantime, please don’t hesitate to contact me with any questions or concerns.
Thank you. -Mark
