Good afternoon,

I have been told that this is the door you should enter to get to Powderhorn Room 1055:

There should also be signage out directing folks to the room. See you soon!

Best,
Sarah

Hi,
I did not realize that today's meeting would be in person only. I understand that this information was readily available on the agenda, and admittedly I misread the information when it was initially sent. The text body of the email containing the agenda does not do any favors to clarify this confusion and to my knowledge this wasn't explicitly discussed at the last meeting either.

As I've shared previously, I have a disability that occasionally makes it difficult to attend these meetings in person. I do my best to show up when I can, but my illness is unpredictable. Therefore, I have no control over how my body may be feeling on any given day and whether or not I can be physically present. I was looking forward to joining virtually, so you can imagine my disappointment when I realized there was no link. If the reasoning for the lack of virtual options is due to the selected meeting location and that location's inability to accommodate specific technology, perhaps that should be reevaluated. Consequently, I will not be able to receive the full scope of the discussions considering that on top of not being able to attend virtually, recordings of the meetings are destroyed and the minutes are typically vague. Considering what we strive to represent as a board I expected better and I'm disappointed that I have been excluded from today's discussion because of my disability and the lack of accessibility measures available to me. There is no reason why any member of this board struggling with a disability (temporary or otherwise) should feel shut out for any reason.

There are many solutions to this issue, especially in 2025, when there are a number of telecommunication applications readily available for remote meetings. I anticipate we can grow from this conversation and develop a process of attendance that works for all members.

Thank you for your time,
Have a wonderful meeting.

Best,
Tabitha Cruz

Hi Tabitha,
I am sorry that you were unable to attend the meeting - this meeting like our other off-site meetings are largely touring and interviewing opportunities for board members.  This is similar to some we have held in the past.  We did ask/confirm this would be an "in-person" meeting prior to it being scheduled however we could have been more explicit on our email which included the agenda.  We will do so in the future.  The topic of this meeting and the request for the tour was not suggested or required by the Commissioners rather it was asked for by board members - I do not recall a time the Commissioners asked or required our board to meet off-site rather those requests have been made by board members themselves so as you all plan for the 2026 meetings I will be sure to mention this concern and you are welcome to as well.  Lynn, Laura and Fred have planned the meetings for 2025 and you all will elect the next leadership group later this year or early the next who will be leading next years topics and meeting locations, laurie
