Hi everyone,

See the amendment below to HB1152 (the ADU bill) that we believe addresses our one remaining "ask", which is the ability for a jurisdiction to require a parking space when approving an ADU, if there is no on-street parking available with the parcel's location.

Please let us know if you disagree, otherwise we will be asking the Governing Board to move to a position of support on HB1152.

Hi all!

Thank you for your input on 1152 --- here is an amendment we were workshopping to address your concerns as well as points raised by Sen. Bridges regarding parking. Let us know if you have any comments or feedback. We think this strikes a balance.  
  • L35 Parking: We were trying to thread a few needles with this amendment to address a variety of concerns while limiting the impact to the policy, so welcome your continuing feedback:
    • With (I), we were trying to address Summit County and other counties’ concerns with places that lack on-street parking.
    • With (II), we wanted to enable Grand Junction, who does ADU parking this way, to continue doing so (that was the purpose of the house amendment--L18).
