The Estes Chamber of Commerce is adding a new element to this year's Chamber Cup golf tournament: a golf ball drop, made possible by partnership with Brandon Kossuth of Mountain View Services.
A maximum of 500 numbered golf balls, numbered 1 through 500, will be available for purchase at $25 each or five for $100. Purchased balls will be dropped from the back of a Mountain View Services truck onto the putting green at the end of the tournament, just before winners are announced. The ball landing closest to the hole — or in the hole, with ties broken by whichever ball settles on the bottom — wins the participant 50 percent of total ball sales.
Golf balls can be purchased on the Chamber's website, with online sales set to go live Friday afternoon.
"The ball drop gives our golfers one more way to be part of the fun while supporting the tournament," said Colleen DePasquale, Estes Chamber President. "It's a simple concept with a great reward, and we're excited to try something new this year."
Sponsorships remain available for the Chamber Cup. Many local businesses have already joined as Hole Sponsors, alongside our Title Sponsor Derek Vinge, Edward Jones.
The Chamber thanks the following hole sponsors for their support of this year's tournament: PRPA (VIP Tent), Holiday Inn Estes Park, Darling Enterprises, Peak Flooring, Lonnie Glessner of CSG Home Loans, Breeyan Edwards of First Colorado Realty, Backbone Adventures, Bird & Jim, AHI Insurance Group, Antonio's Pizza, Apex Roofing Company, Visit Estes Park, Estes Valley Library District, The Bull Pin, Longs Peak Scottish Irish Highland Festival, Penelope's World Famous Burgers & Fries, Town of Estes Park, Waste Management, and YMCA of the Rockies.
Derek Vinge returns as this year's title sponsor, and the Chamber also recognizes Gafner Hospitality Group and the Club House Fairway Tavern for their support in providing the tournament's drink and food packages.
