Hi John,
Welcome to the May 2026 edition of The Sellers' Circle!
What an exciting month it has been! Between the 20 Days of Municibid, daily giveaways, live streams, and a long list of new feature launches, we saw more activity and engagement across the marketplace than ever before, and we're excited to keep that momentum going.
As we celebrate 20 years of Municibid, there has never been a better time to see what selling surplus online can look like for your agency. This month, we're recapping some of the biggest highlights from the 20 Days of Municibid, sharing a first look at our upcoming mobile app, and covering one of the most important strategies behind strong auction results.
Here's what's new.
What a month! During the 20 Days of Municibid, we celebrated 20 years of Municibid with daily giveaways, live streams, major feature launches, and more activity across the marketplace than ever before.
Throughout the celebration, we introduced new tools and features designed to make the buying and selling experience even better. From our new Municibid Auction Assistant Chrome Extension and personalized homepage feed to rebuilt search tools, interactive maps, auction calendar view, and Municibid Metrics dashboard, every update was focused on making it easier for bidders to discover and stay engaged with auctions.
We also launched new Light/Dark Mode display settings, introduced the Official ChatGPT Municibid App, and hosted live streams throughout the 20 Days of Municibid to connect directly with our community. Catch the live stream replays here! The response was incredible, and the live streams are now continuing every Monday at Noon Eastern. Since Memorial Day is coming up, our next live stream will be on Tuesday, May 26 at Noon ET. Join live on YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, X, and LinkedIn.
The increased activity throughout the 20 Days of Municibid brought more eyes to listings, more bidder engagement, and a lot of excitement across the marketplace. If you have been considering selling surplus online, it was a great preview of the kind of exposure and attention active listings can receive on Municibid.
Most importantly, thank you! Municibid would not be where it is today without the governments, schools, bidders, and communities that have supported us over the last 20 years... and we're just getting started.
Feature Focus: The Municibid App is Coming
One of the most requested features over the years is finally on the way. The Municibid Mobile App is coming soon.
The app brings the full Municibid experience right to your phone, making it even easier to stay connected to auctions no matter where you are. Bidders will be able to browse listings, place bids, manage their watchlist, and receive instant notifications when they are outbid or when an auction is about to close.
For governments and schools considering Municibid, the app is another big step forward in making the marketplace even more accessible and active. Selling agencies will be able to create listings, upload photos, manage auctions, and stay connected right from their phone, making it easier than ever to manage surplus on the go.
The easier it is for both bidders and sellers to stay engaged, the more activity auctions can generate across the marketplace. We'll be sharing more details soon, including launch timing for Apple and Android, and we think this is going to be a big one!
Sign up here to be the first to know when the app goes live in the app stores!

What your peers are saying...
"The Town of Mattapoisett, MA has been using the services of Municibid for the past two years with great results. Over the course of 30 years in government administration, I have sold surplus town equipment by sealed bids, live auctions, and other means. I'm convinced the Municibid process gets me a better price for the item, less of a hassle, and I'm finding I'm listing more items due to this ease of process."
Michael Gagne, Town Administrator, Town of Mattapoisett, MA
What bidders are saying...
"Municibid provides an easy platform that connects buyers and sellers that may not otherwise have a chance to do business together. Great customer service, overall great experience."
Brian Thornton, PA
