Colorado Government Entities Invited to Apply for Co-Responder Program Funding

The Colorado Behavioral Health Administration (BHA) is seeking applicants to create, modify, update, or maintain Co-Responder Programs in Colorado. BHA will provide funds to eligible applicants, including cities or county government agencies, to help Colorado continue and expand the Co-Responder Program.

The Co-Responder Program pairs law enforcement and behavioral health specialists to intervene and respond to behavioral health-related calls for police service. These teams utilize the combined expertise of the officer and the behavioral health specialist to de-escalate situations and help link individuals with behavioral health issues to appropriate services.

BHASO Request for Information Timeline Extended

The Colorado Behavioral Health Administration (BHA) is extending its Behavioral Health Administrative Service Organizations (BHASOs) request for information (RFI) response and Q/A timelines. The last day to respond to the RFI is November 3 at 5:00 PM Mountain Standard Time (MST), and the last day to ask questions about the RFI is October 27 at 5:00 PM MST.

BHA asks and encourages behavioral health professionals, advocates, current providers, and other partners to help build a new framework for behavioral health services in Colorado by responding to the RFI.

The framework will create BHASOs that will establish, administer, and maintain regional networks of behavioral healthcare providers that serve people across Colorado. BHASOs will consolidate the current fragmented behavioral healthcare provider networks into regions, emphasizing a “no wrong door” approach. Find instructions to view the RFI, and submit a question or response, on the website
