NACo 90th Annual Conference & Expo:

Spotlight on Mobile Workshops

July 11-14 | CITY AND COUNTY OF PHILADELPHIA, PA.

From networking receptions, to mobile tours, to a packed expo hall, the National Association of Counties (NACo) 2025 Annual Conference & Exposition in Philadelphia promises nonstop engagement. Don't miss it. Today is the last day to secure the advanced rate.

Mobile Workshops

A signature element of NACo conferences, mobile workshops send attendees out into the community to see firsthand how our hosts serve residents and strengthen communities. This year's tours in the city and county of Philadelphia, Pa. will place on Monday, July 14.

Join us for:

Circularity in Action in Philadelphia’s Fairmount Park

Fairmount Park Organic Recycling Center is a shining example of Philadelphia's circular economy. For 40 years, it has turned leaves, brush, fallen trees and other organic materials into finished products like compost, mulch and wood chips. The tour will offer participants a firsthand look at how the center and other programs turn waste into value.

Green Stormwater Infrastructure at Venice Island

Reconstructed in 2014, Venice Island houses the Philadelphia Water Department's (PWD) wastewater storage and pumping station and the Venice Island Performing Arts & Recreation Center. The tour will showcase the site's extensive green stormwater infrastructure as well as the green roofs on both the rec center and PWD facility.

Masterpieces East Mural Arts Tour

Explore the world’s largest outdoor art gallery and get to know Philadelphia’s stunning mural collection on an exciting guided tour. Guests will witness four decades of creativity, featuring a curated collection of masterpieces that weave through diverse neighborhoods and makes Philadelphia the mural capital of the world.

Riverview Wellness Village: A Model for Recovery-based Housing

The village opened in January, launching 336 beds combined with best-in-class on-site resources addressing all social determinants of health, including primary care, clinical supports for substance use disorder and mental illness, education and workforce development. The pioneering model may provide a template for counties across the U.S.

Schuylkill Banks Walking Tour

The Schuylkill River Development Corporation, a nonprofit working with the city and county of Philadelphia, will lead a walking tour of Schuylkill Banks — an urban riverfront trail and greenway. The tour will include a walk over a recently completed cable-stayed bridge running along the river’s edge.

These mobile workshops are first come, first served and available to any registered conference attendees. Click below to register for the conference.
