Happy St. Patrick’s Day! This month has been a whirlwind of blessings for KidsPak and we are so incredibly grateful for all of our friends, volunteers, and donors who have made March full of luck for us! We believe we all make our own luck through hard work and dedication to our mission and community. Read on to see what KidsPak has been up to this month.

“I’m a great believer in luck, and I find the harder

I work the more I have of it.”

—Thomas Jefferson

KidsPak is greatly saddened by the loss of a leader, both in our community and to our agency. KidsPak wishes to honor our friend and Board Member Trish Will. There is no shortage of ways to describe who Trish was to us individually and as an organization. As we grieve together, we share our remembrances of Trish as a class act, a true friend, a wonderful human, a wiser sister, a mentor, a “velvet hammer,” a doer, a driving force, a provider of warm wisdom, a great canner and most of all a lover of all kids–but especially her grandkids.

Trish was a foundational member of the KidsPak team, pushing us to be better every day than we were the day before. She wanted us to always be looking ahead and focusing on how we could sustain and grow our service to the community. Trish had a wealth of knowledge of nonprofits and supported us in becoming our own 501(c)(3). She was a widely talented leader who was great at getting everyone moving in a straight line, which was not always an easy task! KidsPak wouldn’t be where we are today without her guidance, support, and wisdom.

Trish left us with a gift of lessons that will last forever–to always keep a positive attitude; to stop talking sometimes and just do it; to accept help because it really helps the helper; to think farther out than tomorrow; and to give of yourself, because you will be the one who benefits.

She will be deeply missed and forever appreciated.

We love our volunteers!

Another huge THANK YOU to everyone who made the KidsPak food drive a huge success! You are our heroes! If you have more photos to share from the food drive or any KidsPak event please email them to me...@kidspak.org.

Board Member Spotlight: Mel Goldsipe. Role at KidsPak: Board Member How long have you been with KidsPak? Since August 2020 What is your favorite part of volunteering for KidsPak? Being in a caring community with people who work so hard to help other people. How would you describe the company culture? KidsPak is the most caring, dedicated group of people I've ever worked with. What's one thing people don't know about you that they would be surprised to find out? I'm really into Kpop (South Korean pop music) and Cdramas (Chinese tv shows). I'm also trying to learn Korean. What piece of advice would you give to your younger self? You're going to have a wonderful life filled with love and music and theater and travel. Try to worry a little less. What are three words to describe KidsPak? Dedicated, loving, hard-working
