Hello Hello Key Clubbers!
Are you interested in volunteering for the Kiwanis Special Games? Has it been a while since you have been inspired and truly touched by helping a child and seeing the sparkle in their eyes? If you are interested in making a huge difference in the lives of over 1000 kids, the Special Games are in 1 week, next Friday, April 25! This year the Key Clubs will be helping with each game, such as frisbee throw, bean bag drop, etc. It should be really fun and rewarding!
Kiwanis Special Games is an annual event that provides a fun and competitive day of activities for kids in Santa Clara County who are in the Adaptive Physical Education program. It is all-inclusive, with games for all ages and abilities. The Games started off over 40 years ago when a couple of Adaptive Physical Ed teachers met Walter Chronert with the Los Altos Kiwanis Club… and now the games host over 1000 kids each year at this spectacular, all-inclusive, event for all special kids!
See this video for a glimpse of the event from a couple years ago!
If you are interested, please talk to your club president or feel free to reach out to me!
This event takes place on a school day. If you need a Letter of Absence to request the day off from school, scroll down on THIS website page and you should see the letter available for download!
Sign up on their SignUpGenius page HERE! If you are interested in volunteering before or after the event, please email me and LTG Joey at d34s...@cnhkeyclub.org!

From J.W. Smith, Los Altos Kiwani: Please stay after the games to help move everything (EVERYTHING) to the trucks and help load it, please! I know that everyone is high after helping during the games. It is a great experience and feeling! I would love to have a small amount of your time to move EVERYTHING to trucks and help load it.
for those who have worked the Games before…
ROLES: Previously the Key Clubbers were primarily assigned as group leaders. However, this year for the first time the Clubbers will be assigned to help run the events. You will be assigned a yellow shirt, and assigned to an event. Our main tool will be a master spreadsheet showing which event needs how many workers, and as we assign workers we simply check it off on the sheet
SIGNING IN: There will be several gigantic QR codes mounted on the fence, three categories — Kiwanians, Student Volunteers, & “Community.” The QR of course takes you to a website which guides you through the registration process. For those without phones, we ask them to borrow someone else’s for a moment.
