Hey Supertroopers,

Please read this message from our amazing Fundraising Coord Joseph to help your club develop fundraisers for the last few months of the term!

Bonjour Banana Boos!!

Happy New Year!! My name is Joseph Hoang, and I am your D12W Fundraising Coordinator this year. As we approach more holidays and cultural events in the next several months, I am giving a heads up to all the great fundraising efforts your club can take on to support PTP and your preferred charities.

For new members and officers… the CNH district established the Pediatric Trauma Program (PTP), which develops local projects reducing the number of children killed or injured by trauma. Don’t know what to fundraise for? This is a great (and our preferred) charity to support!

What should we do?

Anything and everything!! But a couple of suggestions based on personal club experience…

  • Hot chocolate stations. We love this one…it’s still cold in the Bay and the items needed are cheap! Consider borrowing an insulated dispenser, table, marshmallows, candy canes, and baked goods.
  • Valentine candy grams. Simply buy candy in bulk, cute tags, and plastic wrapping—or make candy bouquets using chocolate roses, which are also applicable for graduation sendoff gifts.
  • Lunar New Year and cultural events. Culture clubs often have their yearly performances around this time (e.g., VSA’s spring show), so consider partnering with them to sell goods or anything that supports both clubs.
  • Spring season sports. Look towards fundraising at basketball or track and swim meets, which always last for several hours. Cheap items for athletes, like Rice Krispies, sell well and have great return.
  • Boba. Classic! The division has pre-made arrangements with boba tea places that offer good discounts, so reach out to us if you would like to host one.
  • Support division events. Our fundraising is your fundraising too! Encourage your club to attend future events like the movie nightfestival, and more. (Just this September, we were able to raise money at the Los Gatos Art and Wine Festival—come next time!)

How can you help us?

If you need seed funds or sponsorships to kickstart your fundraising, please reach out to me and I will coordinate with our Kiwanis family. Any fundraising guidance or coordination needed between shops/stores can go to me as well. Thank you to all the officers who have already reached out!

Have a unique PTP-oriented service project idea? The CNH Key Club provides grants as well! See:
