Connect, present, and build - events in London, Tokyo and Snowbird, Utah.

Hi all,

The CNG 2026 event series is rolling, and there are three things we'd love to get on your radar — one next week, one in August, and one this October.

London — evening reception, June 23

Our London event on June 23 lands right in the middle of London Climate Week. The daytime program is sold out, but the evening reception (16:00–18:00) is still open — come for drinks, conversation, and a chance to meet the CNG community in person  Register for the reception here.

CNG Japan — Tokyo, August 24 (call for speakers open)

On August 24, CNG comes to Japan for the first time: a half-day community meetup in Tokyo with demos, conversation, and a social reception. If you're working in or around Japan on anything cloud-native geospatial — a production deployment, a work in progress, a tool, a workflow, or a hard-won lesson — we want to hear about it. Talks can be given in English or Japanese  Submit a talk for CNG Japan here.

(We're still finalizing a Tokyo venue — if your organization has space and would like to host, please reach out.)

And if you're attending FOSS4G 2026 in Hiroshima, join us for the STAC Japan workshop at JAXA's Tsukuba Space Center (Aug 25–27) → Register to attend here.

CNG Forum 2026 — the workshop lineup, October 6

The CNG Forum returns to Snowbird, UT, October 6–9, and the whole of October 6 is a dedicated, hands-on workshop day. Here's what's on the program so far:

  • Cloud-Native Geospatial 101: A Practical Introduction to Modern Geospatial Workflows — Julia Wagemann (thriveGEO) & Guillaume Bontemps (CNES)
  • Building and Benchmarking Cloud-Optimized Geospatial Raster and Tensor Datasets — Francesco Nattino (Netherlands eScience Center)
  • Make FEMA Flood Maps Cloud-Native: A GeoParquet + DuckDB Pipeline You Can Reuse for Any Public Vector Dataset — Guillaume Sueur (Geomermaids)
  • Overture Maps Foundation Workshop — Dana Bauer (Overture Maps Foundation)
  • Data to Production Pipelines in Minutes with Fused — Max Lenormand (Fused)
  • Build an MCP Server for AWS Open Data using Vibe Coding with Kiro — Chris Stoner (AWS)
  • BYOT (Build Your Own TOM): AI Dataset Building Crash Course — Cesar Aybar & Miko Czerkawski (Asterisk Labs)

Get your Forum ticket and sign up for a workshop here.

Hope to see you at one – or all – of these!

Best,

Louisa Diggs
