CF CLI 6.9.0 Release - 2015-01-20

Hey All:

Hope everyone's 2015 is off to a great start!  The CF CLI team cut 6.9.0 today.  Release notes and binaries/installers are available at:

Highlights of this release include:

1.  Plugin new features:

• Allow versioning in plugins [#82911038]
  
• cf plugins shows plugin versions when listing installed plugins [#84630868]
• Improve help text for install-plugin [#84601290]
• Enable '-h' and '--help' flags in plugin commands when authored with help output[#82051134]
• Update README.md and improve development guide for cli plugins [0]

2.  New commands:

• command `create-app-manifest` for generating a reverse-engineered manifest from existing app/route/service settings for pushed app [#78294704]

3.  Updated Commands:

• N/A 

4.  General UX Refinements

• append source index to all source in cf logs [#85484012] - `cf logs <APP>` now shows the index for all log types not use APP logs.
  
• Apps now timeout when they fail to stage instead of waiting for an instance to start [#83802536] - github issue #260) 
• Allows multiple hosts(routes) to be created via manifest when app is pushed [#72389932] - (github issue #181)

5.  Improvements to text output/error messaging

• Correct help text for files command [#85754150]
• Improve cf usage instructions [#85818652]
• Improvement to marketplace cost messaging [#85571986]
• Better message when no files to be listed in directory [#63120324]

6.  Pull Requests

• Merge PR #328 from Fix cups attempts to create service when no space is targeted
• Merge PR #322: Updating go vet location in install-dev-tools target.
• Merge PR #323: Fixes go vet errors:
• Merge PR #321: Copy original request's headers when handling redirect
• Merge PR #317: Fix the invalid memory address during bind service
• Merge PR #315: Improve french i18n
• Merge PR #309: Fix in clearing space fields of config data on cf space-delete

Hey James, any idea when we can expect to get our hands on the cli beta that supports pushing docker images to diego?

i've talked about it with onsi as recently as last week.

we'll likely either do a cli plugin for trying it out or a pull request to the cli team. i don't think there is a story for it yet in the tracker, but likely will be there soon.

in the meantime, you should be able to do a POST with "cf curl" from the json at http://apidocs.cloudfoundry.org/197/apps/creating_an_app.html

note the "docker_image" attribute
