Hello,

I'm hoping someone can lend me a hand in troubleshooting this very problematic HUE install. This service was previously functional, but stopped working since upgrading to HDP 2.5.3. This is HUE 3.11 that we compiled manually and are running against hiveserver2 v1.2.1000.

Anytime that a user submits a hive query, the hue service goes offline. The job is visible in YARN and eventually the service becomes available again but the log shows "Broken pipe". All these queries work through beeline so this problem is specific to my HUE instance. I also have tried several different instances of this hue deployment and the result is the same.

I have tried increasing beeswax heap setting, increasing the timeout, but i have not been able to get the interface functional again. I am wondering if there is some incompatibility with the version of Hive:

# hive --version
Hive 1.2.1000.2.5.3.0-37
Subversion git://c66-slave-38a0b1a6-7/grid/0/jenkins/workspace/HDP-parallel-centos6/SOURCES/hive -r 2ca087ccae7e7a32edb5575b0d165cee9e713c49
Compiled by jenkins on Wed Nov 30 01:57:18 UTC 2016
From source with checksum 90fdda4a6d386fba6dc272edc709d0eb

I'm really out of ideas at this point and can't get the server to even stay online. This was working on HDP 2.3.4 with some intermittent timeouts but was at least able to query.

Any advice would be very appreciated, thank you
