Partitioning parquet files using Kite Java API

I am evaluating kite to write parquet files using Kite Java API. I am planning to use it with Apache Apex ( yet another stream processing framework ) . Apex has concept of operators which processes event tuples and moves it forward. One of the standard output operator is HDFS File output operator and I am hoping to enhance to use with Kite for my particular use case. My questions are ...
-Is there better examples and docs for using kite java api for partitioning ? The example in the git seems pretty old, is it still relevant or something changed ?
-Does / How does kite handles when multiple threads writing to same file ?
-Appreciate complex / detailed example using Java
