SWRL rules performance

Hello Everyone,

           We are trying to understand if we should run SWRL rules within Stardig DB vs running them using JENA outside of DB? Could you help point out the pros and cons? We would like to understand performance difference between the two options. In other words what is the performance gain of running SRL rules within DB vs outside? Thank you in advance for your response!

Running SWRL rules inside or outside of the database in abstract is a different question from running SWRL in Jena or in Stardog.  The former question probably depends on which rules, how much data, and several other factors we don't know in this case. The latter question is much easier to answer in the sense that for anything over very tiny amounts of data, it will be more performant to use Stardog. Cheers, Kendall
