CALL's Law Librarians' Institute is BACK!

Dear colleagues,

 

I am thrilled to share that following the incredible success of our inaugural program, CALL’s Law Librarians’ Institute (LLI) is BACK for its second run, led once again by the incomparable Annette Demers.

 

The LLI is a hybrid learn-at-your-own-pace interactive program that introduces you to the essential skills required to research Canadian law. It is offered by the Canadian Association of Law Libraries (CALL/ACBD), with the virtual portion being FREE to all CALL/ACBD members. Not a CALL member? Consider signing up, or pay a small fee per virtual lesson.

 

The program will kick off on January 19, 2026 with our first virtual meet up. Lessons will be released every two weeks, with regular recap virtual meet ups. The LLI then wraps up in Moncton, right before the annual CALL/ACBD conference, with an in-person workshop and the pre-conference session. Optional courses (provincial legislation, Indigenous law, legal tech) will return after the CALL/ACBD conference.

 

A certificate of completion will be given out to those who complete the entire virtual program as well as the in-person workshop within two calendar years. You do not need to complete all sessions unless you would like to obtain a certificate of completion.
