Bonjour la liste! 😊

The International Association of Law Libraries (IALL) is meeting in Houston, Texas, this year from October 19 -23, 2025. The theme for the IALL Annual Course is: “Space City Houston: Legal Gateway to the World, and Beyond.”

The Program features Houston as an international city. The sessions cover topics such as international trade, maritime law, immigration law, cross-border arbitration, space patents, and space crime (NASA law enforcement’s criminal investigations into stolen and missing moon rocks!).

The Program also includes sessions on Houston’s legal history, its LGBTQIA+ community, banned books, censorship, and libraries, the future and training of foreign, comparative, and international law (FCIL) librarians and legal information professionals, and much, much more!

There is a pre-conference workshop on Sunday, October 19 on “Skills for the 21st Century Librarian” covering tech tools and tactics, presentation tips, and AI law.

There is an Optional Day at Space Center Houston on Thursday, October 23 which includes a session on “Space Law 2025: A Primer for Lawyers and Law Librarians”.

The early-bird registration deadline has been extended to August 15, 2025. The final registration date is September 5, 2025.

We look forward to seeing you in October for the IALL Annual Course!

Hasta la vista,

Lyo.
