Miarom Begoto holds
an LLB (University of N’Djaména) and two LLMs (University of Lyon 2 and Grenoble
2). He has a rich experience in the field of human rights, governance, justice reform,
and OHADA law. He has held various senior positions in the Chadian administration
and has taught in universities and university institutes. He has held various positions,
including the African Union Advisory Council on Combating Corruption and UNDP Chad.
Djimbaye Narcisse holds
a master’s degree in private law (University of N’Djamena) and two master’s degrees
(Lumière Lyon 2 and Yaoundé II universities). He is also an alumnus of the International
Cycle of the Regional Institute of Administration (CiIRA) in Lyon. As a magistrate,
Djimbaye served as a judge at the N’Djamena Commercial Court, before being appointed
legal adviser to the Minister of Petroleum, Mines, and Geology.
Laras Susanti is
a Fulbright scholar and S.J.D. candidate at the University of Pittsburgh School
of Law. She holds an LL.M. in Asian and Comparative Law from the University of Washington.
Her research focuses on the judiciary, family law, Islam, and the intersection of
law and politics in a comparative context. An aspiring legal scholar, she has published
in both academic and popular media.
Gabriel Mading Apach is
a practicing lawyer and principal partner at Kush Advocates & Solicitors and
a lecturer and Director for Law and Development Centre at the University of Juba,
School of Law. Currently, he is also serving as a Secretary for Training and Research
in the South Sudan Bar Association. He graduated from University of Juba in 2014/2015
academic year with LL. B 1st class, SS Bar in legal practice in 2016, and he earned
his LLM in International Trade & Investment Law in Africa from the Center of
Human Rights at the University of Pretoria, South Africa. His experience in legal
practice, teaching coupled with his LLM research paper, titled Protection of Foreign
Investment in South Sudan: Making a Case for Consolidation of Fragmented Investment
Related Laws, have offered him the opportunity to develop an expertise on South
Sudan and its legal system.
Peter Garang Geng is
an Advocate of the High Court of South Sudan. He has earned a Master of Laws in international
law from Sharda University in India and is currently pursuing an LLM in Oil and
Gas Law at the Institute of Petroleum Studies in Uganda. He teaches at the School
of Law, University of Juba. His research interests focus on comparative constitutional
law, oil and gas law, environmental law, and legal research methodology.
Sergio Endress has
a master’s in law from the Universidad de Chile. He has been a lawyer and a Professor
of Taxation and Trial Taxation at the School of Law of the Universidad de Chile
since 1994. He is also a partner of Endress y Cía., Tax Advisors. He published “Las
inversiones en materia Tributaria” (Investment from tax perspective), Editorial
Conosur, 1994-1998; “Manual de Impuesto a la Renta” (Income Tax Handbook),
by Patricio Figueroa V., Editorial Jurídica de Chile, 1997, reprinted in 2004, (in
collaboration); “Tributación del Propietario de Empresa” (Shareholders and
Partners Taxation in Chile), Editorial Jurídica de Chile, 2005 and 2006; and several
articles about taxation. From 2007 to 2010, he was the Director of “Manual de
Consultas Tributarias,” a monthly tax review published by Thomson Reuters (ex
Lexisnexis) Chile.
Dr. Khedr is
a faculty member and Adviser of Corporate Affairs. He holds an LLB, BA in Police
Science, LLM in International Commerce, and PhD Highest Class with honors in Commercial
Law, majoring in Corporate Law and Corporate Governance from Ain Shams University. He
holds Professional Education in Business Management, Corporate Restructuring, Mergers
& Acquisitions from Harvard University, and a professional (TOT) in Corporate
Governance from (IFC) World Bank Group. In addition, he has many professional courses
and certifications relevant to Mediation, Compliance, AML/CFT, Development &
Management, and Computer and Information Security. Dr. Khedr has more than twenty
years of experience as a practitioner, Lecturer, and Adviser of Law and Corporate
Affairs. His fields of interest are Commercial & Corporate Laws, Int’l Commerce
Law, Corporate Governance & Compliance Systems, M&A, Financial Crimes, Consumer
Law, AML, Mediation, Commercial Contracts, Investor Relations, Regulations, Family
Business Charter, Stock Market Corporate codes, Code of Conduct, and CSR. He has
published research and books on these topics in periodicals and scientific journals.
He has provided consulting in Corporate Affairs to many firms, and several multinational
and local companies in MENA and USA. Ahmed has experience in the MENA especially
Egypt and the Gulf countries. The ABCCG (Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce & Industry)
chose him to design the first “Corporate Governance Program for Lawyers & Corporate
Advisory” in the UAE and the Arab Region. He presents his opinions as an independent
Expert of Gulf laws upon the request of international arbitration bodies and courts
in the USA and England.
Patrick Overy was
a Subject Librarian for Law and Business at the University of Exeter and managed
the European Documentation Centre at Exeter from 1991 until he retired in 2016.
He was involved in European information networks at national and international levels,
especially through the now defunct European Information Association, which published
European Information: A Guide to Official Sources in 2005. The 4th edition was published
online at the end of 2010 and is available to download from ORE (Open
Research Exeter).
Natalia Saralegui is
currently working at the Implementation of Human Rights Instruments Programme of
the Public Defender’s Office in Argentina and as a Professor of Constitutional Law
at the Universidad de Buenos Aires. She is a published author on human rights issues
(gender and reproductive rights) and has been a guest lecturer in the subject in
several countries. Additionally, she has been a consultant for NGOs regarding Latin
American law in human and women’s rights. She obtained her law degree from the Universidad
de Buenos Aires. She did the Master’s in Criminology from the Universidad de Tres
de Febrero and Universidad de Quilmes in Buenos Aires. She also has a postgraduate
degree from the Universidad de Buenos Aires in Gender and Law.
