Hello International Law Librarians
I am looking for this publication, whether in a library or a bookshop. I have found it in one French University library but it is not accessible to the public.
Rene David, L’Arbitrage Commercial International en Droit Comparé (1968-69)
Please contact me if you know a source for it.
Many thanks
Regards
Nick

Nick,
Not to push aside our French colleagues, but I suppose this title is a bit condensed.
Good idea is to check the SUDOC cooperative catalogue, the French Jisc Library Hub Discover, so to say. The ‘Système universitaire de documentation (SUDOC)’ in its English version can be found here: https://www.sudoc.abes.fr/cbs//DB=2.1/SET=1/TTL=11/LNG=EN/.
And these are the results, giving me the idea that your text might be a chapter in some of these lecture materials by the famous Rene DAVID:
Cours de droit privé comparé / David, René (1906-1990 ; juriste) / les Cours de droit / 1969
Cours de droit privé comparé / David, René (1906-1990 ; juriste) / les Cours de droit / [1969]
The ‘Cours de droit’ to me looks like a repetitive textbook edition, partly published by ‘Èditions Cujas’, a French legal publisher since 1936. Now textbooks of this kind don’t seem to be the object of the antiquarian book trade too often. On the other hand their scientific value can be discussed. In case you insist I’d suggest an international distance lending process, which might take some weeks.
In case you are happy with what Rene David had to say in other sources, you might consult

The BL, the IALS and Oxbridge should have the French edition of 1982, too (ISBN 2717803831).
The ‘International Encyclopedia of Comparative Law’ should include contributions of him on that subject, too.
Best of luck, Andreas,Hamburg

Dear Nick,
I found a useful page L'arbitage dans le commerce internationale | WorldCat.org.
Is the UoL available to you?

As a lurker on the list, I want to just extend my thanks to Andreas for sharing his expertise (and often his materials, I believe).
I appreciate all the things—sources and more—that I have learned just by reading his replies, as well as those of other people more expert than I in foreign (and international) legal research.
Thank you all!

Meg,
As you’ve addressed me in person, I take the liberty to reply in and for the public.
Thank you very much for your praise, but first it always is a pleasure to help my colleagues, especially those with worse conditions at work than I do have. Second, it isn’t much of work. And third, it gives me a lot of fun and entertainment and the chance of learning, too.
More, I cannot but relate to Meg’s words about the abundance of knowledge we receive by the many colleagues contributing here.
As the old saying goes: Had this list not been invented, it’d be the very next item on our agenda.
Best, Andreas
