Dear Chromium Security Team,

We are reaching out to inquire about the necessary steps to ensure that our software installer is not blocked by Google Chrome during downloads.

Our installer has been signed by a renowned Certificate Authority, yet we have observed that Chrome still flags it as potentially harmful. We would like to understand if there are additional requirements or best practices we should follow to prevent this from happening.

Software is available at:
https://static.achatsolutions.fr/installer/aw-sign/AWSignSetup.exe

Could you please advise on the following points?

  1. Are there specific guidelines or criteria we need to adhere to for our installer to be recognized as safe by Chrome? we're already following guidelines described on https://www.google.com/about/unwanted-software-policy.html
  2. Is there a way to submit our installer for review to prevent it from being flagged?
  3. Are there any particular security or signing standards that we need to meet beyond using a trusted Certificate Authority?

We appreciate any assistance or guidance you can provide on this matter. Please let us know if you require any further details from our end.

Best Regards,

AchatSolution's developer team.

Hello,

There is no action the Chrome team can take here. It sounds like you have found the relevant policy documentation. If you still believe there is a false positive warning, you can request a review as documented here: https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/9044101?hl=en and the Safe Browsing team will evaluate your request. Be sure to mention that you've had repeated trouble with false positives, as that's important context.

Thanks,
Dan Rubery
