Hi,

Let's cancel the next few weeks' calls due to overlap with travel for
in-person events (UTW, W3C TPAC, and TC39), so our next call is in
four weeks from now.

While at TPAC, I'll be hosting a breakout session on DOM Localization,
a W3C proposal that's a rather direct follow-up to our work on MF2:
- Session proposal: https://github.com/w3c/tpac2025-breakouts/issues/67
- Explainer: https://github.com/mozilla/explainers/blob/main/dom-localization.md

In the interim, please review the following PRs, which might let us
settle about half of the features that our spec still has at Draft
status:

- Finalize :percent
https://github.com/unicode-org/message-format-wg/pull/1100

- Finalize :currency
https://github.com/unicode-org/message-format-wg/pull/1101

- Drop u:locale
https://github.com/unicode-org/message-format-wg/pull/1102

Those are of course the less controversial half, and we'll need to
continue discussing the unit and datetime functions at future
meetings. PRs are of course welcome to help us along on those.

Reminder: Our next meeting is later today. We'll be looking to merge
the PRs finalizing support for :currency and :percent, as well as
dropping u:locale.

During TPAC, the W3C i18n WG accepted my proposal to start incubating
the message resource format work, and it's now hosted there:
https://github.com/w3c/i18n-discuss/blob/gh-pages/explainers/message-resources.md

We should discuss whether we are interested in continuing the work on
default placeholder and message attribute definitions in this WG, or
if we think that that too would be best done under the W3C i18n WG:
https://github.com/unicode-org/message-format-wg/pull/1098
