It's been 9 days, and I don't know what the hangup is for supplying the summary. The spec beta is coming up mid-next week. Perhaps Eemeli is OOO? If so, can someone compose a summary of changes so we can add them to the draft spec modifications section (https://www.unicode.org/reports/tr35/dev/tr35-modifications.html)?

It does not have to be long: a few bullet points that cover the main changes. I doubt that we just want to write that there have been no significant changes.

Friendly bump - We still need bullets for the modifications section and for the release notes

We need a few  bullets summarizing the changes in Part 9, both for the Modifications section of the spec, and for the Release page. The alpha version of the latter is going out tomorrow, so it would be nice to have it then, but the real deadline will be Sept 26.

I thought I'd asked about this earlier, but I couldn't find this in the ticket, or PR or my email.

It is an architecture.

Sorry, I've been swamped and the earlier request for this slipped past me. The release issue's list of changes that Addison links to above (which I thought I'd shared during the CLDR-TC meeting?) is the best we've available. I went ahead and rephrased it a bit just now:

Normative changes to Stable parts of the specification:

  • Syntax and data model errors are now required to be prioritized over other errors (#1011)
  • The Default Bidi Strategy is now required and default (#1066)
  • The :offset function (previously named :math) is now available as Stable (#1073)

Normative changes to Draft parts of the specification:

  • The :datetime, :date, and :time functions are updated to build on top of semantic skeletons (#1078, #1083)
  • :percent is added as a new Draft function (#1094)

Editorial changes:

  • The format is more clearly rebranded as "Unicode MessageFormat" (#1064)
  • The pattern selection definition is refactored to be easier to understand without changing its meaning (#1080)
