Hello all,

There are numerous interesting text logging messages output by the audio code like the following in media/audio/win/audio_low_latency_input_win.cc:

  SendLogMessage("%s({device_id=%s}, {params=[%s]})", __func__,
                 device_id.c_str(), params.AsHumanReadableString().c_str());

I tried to figure out where these log messages get sent, and after tracing through several layers of code ended up somewhere around MediaInternals::CreateMojoAudioLog.

However, I sort of lost the thread from there as these messages started to wind their way through other code.

Does anyone know if they get sent to console logging or are they available from chrome://media-internals?  (I did not see them by clicking around through the various tabs.)

Is there an additional flag needed to turn them on?

We are trying to debug an audio capture bug, and having these logs could be quite useful.

Thanks.
m.

They end up in chrome://webrtc-logs/ IIRC. I don't recall precisely how it works though.

Thanks, I checked chrome://webrtc-logs after starting a system audio capture on Windows, and there was an "upload id" but no indication of where the upload was sent.

Looks like they're printed to VLOG(1) if you want to try grabbing them from console -- probably requires --no-sandbox:

Right, these are available locally with something like --vmodule=*/webrtc/*=1, and if the requested to via the WebRTC Logging Private API, are uploaded to crash/ to be joined with Meet feedback reports - it's where the 'callgrok' chrome/webrtc logs we get there come from.

and there was an "upload id"

Do you mean the report ID? That goes to Crash, where the report is searchable using that ID.

I *thought* there might be something like --enable-webrtc-logging or similar that's required as well for the VLOGs ?

Webrtc log macros map to Chromium's logging macros, so there aren't any special flags for webrtc. Have you tried --no-sandbox?

Alex, ping me if you can't see the logs and I'll try to assist. They should turn up as regular VLOGs. Are you perhaps hit by crbug/1337804.

Will improve how this page can be located from the main TOC next.
