DirectX or GDI compositing

Hello graphics team ,

   I have a requirement of checking from the browser process if GPU is using DirectX or GDI. 
Is there a way to check in the browser process if DirectX  composition is not being used  ?
I am currently using g_browser_process->gpu_mode_manager()->initial_gpu_mode_pref() to check if hardware acceleration is enabled but want to know more  details about GDI/DirectX.
