The chrome://apps surface is the only place in Chrome where a user can view a list of installed web apps and quickly access the settings of all installed web apps in one place. This surface was designed for Chrome Apps, lacks test coverage and suffers from code rot.

However, this surface is also used and needed for PWAs. It needs to be refreshed.

This launch proposes to replace the surface with a tested, maintainable with like-for-like and future ready implementation for PWAs. Internally we are referring to this replacement as the App Home for convenience. It will have no external name or marketing communication.
