Fugu & PWA Update for Chrome 134

Our previous newsletters

Welcome to the latest edition of the regular Fugu + PWA update. Here, you'll find all the latest news about our work on the Fugu APIs, plus a sampling of recent work with partners. As always, our project tracker is available at fugu-tracker.web.app .

Notes:

  • There was no newsletter for M133, since no Fugu and PWA features shipped in that milestone.

Features Releasing to Stable

Navigation Capturing on Windows, MacOS and Linux. - v2

Bug      Launch Bug      Chromestatus

Web links now direct users to installed web apps. This aligns with users' installed app expectations. Chrome makes it easier to move between the browser and installed web apps. Clicking a link that could be handled by an installed web app with the launch_handler field specified, the link will open in that installed web app, following the launch handling behavior. Users can change this behavior through the installed web app's settings. Developers can control this behavior via the launch_handler manifest property, and can read more here.

This feature was previously shipped in M121. This version addresses some edge cases and partner feedback.
