Does anyone here have any ideas as to the possible cause? I certainly don't think it's anything in my code and I've searched long and hard for the answer.

Could it be something about the manifest file? Reading this: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/47757849/chrome-extension-disabled-this-extension-may-have-been-corrupted-chrome-63-0-3 has me wondering if it is. However, nothing in the documentation seems to prove that. And if so, I'm wondering why the Extension upload page doesn't catch such things?!
