Early question about a private API proposal

Hi,

We are adding some machine intelligence based features for accessibility (go/chrome-screen-ai). The models are provided using an external library (built in Google3) that runs inside a sandboxed Chrome process.

The research team wishes to have an extension to experiment with the library, but we don't have any plan to launch the extension for public users. Can we have a private API (behind a flag) to call this library and get its outputs? If yes, given that we don't want to launch this, do we need a full review as mentioned in go/new-extension-api, or a more limited one is sufficient?
