Hi Everyone,

To provide the best experience for the most-used Linux versions, we will end support for Google Chrome on 32-bit Linux, Ubuntu Precise (12.04), and Debian 7 (wheezy) in early March, 2016.  Chrome will continue to function on these platforms but will no longer receive updates and security fixes.

We intend to continue supporting the 32-bit build configurations on Linux to support building Chromium. If you are using Precise, we’d recommend that you to upgrade to Trusty.

Kind Regards,

Hi,

It seems that this process has already being executed, since I can't find any 32-bit DEB or RPM packages if I try to download them from https://www.google.com/chrome, even though the options to select those platforms are still showing up in the popup dialog that you get when clicking on the "Download" button.

I assume this is expected as per this previous announcement from November, and the the 404 errors when trying to download them are just the result of a temporary situation but still I have a question:

Will Google still maintain "archived" versions of Chrome 32-bit available to download from some place after this point? (Something like snapshot.debian.org, but for Google Chrome packages)

I know it's good to encourage people to use up-to-date software, but still I'd like to know if this would be an option or if 32-bit Chrome is gone for good.

Thanks,
Mario

I think we are indeed in the process of rolling out the updated pages and there
are some issues like you cite below (see crbug.com/564194).

There are no plans to keep a public archived version of 32-bit Chrome available
that I know of at this time.

Ah! Good to know, thanks for the link,

Thanks for confirming. I did not have many hopes, but had to ask anyway.
