Hello, how are you?
First f all sorry if this is the wrong group to ask this, please feel free to move it. (Based on what i read i think this was the most suitable)
I'm looking forward to create a usb bootable os which is very simple. All I need is to start the OS and launch a browser in full screen (if its possible not allowing to minimize it). I really like how Chromium looks and works but I'm not sure if i can achieve this modifications and if its allowed.
I need this for a kiosk type app which is going t load in a website. I need it to be an OS since i want to save cookies in the usb stick about what was done in the site and keep the browser updated.
Do you think this is a good start or should start looking somewhere else? a linux distro to modify?
I would love if you can provide me some guidelines or point me on some directions.

Thanks!

Try porteus kiosk.  http://porteus-kiosk.org, or you can go the route we went with at work to deploy kiosks. Basically an ubuntu server install with X windowing system, openbox as the window manager and chrome. here is a tutorial: http://thepcspy.com/read/building-a-kiosk-computer-ubuntu-1404-chrome/

Thanks for you answer and suggestions. I will take a deeper look to those 2 links but for what i saw really fast i think I will need something more custom :S.
Let me add a brief explanation of what we are looking for.
We want to build a booteable OS from a USB that basically open a full screen browser that loads a page and everything will be done in that site. The idea is that the browser window can't be close or browse to other site, the OS doesn't need to have much more features it just need to be able to handle the Wifi connection, inputs form keyboard and mouse and play sounds form videos. We want to do this o we have a system that is safe for children's since is going to be able to show only what is inside that page.
The OS should allow us to save cookies for the login information and some configurations of the site and to allow us perform updates if necessary.
It must allow to poweroff the computer saafely too.

What you think?

both of those would handle that.
