Hello,

I am trying to access a pyboard connected by USB to my chromebook to copy some files that I need to make this board work. I use the python rshell tool to make the copy but it does not appear within the virtual machine and it does not appear in the list of system USB devices either.

What options do I have to solve my problem?

If the Pyboard shows up in the Files app as a drive, you can share the drive or a subfolder to Linux and find it under /mnt/, if it doesn't you probably need to boot in whatever bootloader/serial mode it has and pass through the device to Linux. There might be chrome://flags to potentially make more devices visible but if it isn't in the allowlist for mapping you'll likely need to boot Linux on another machine via LiveUSB.
