I am trying to stream USB camera in my Acer Chromebook using Android Application. The connected USB device is not detected in my chromebook. As per this link: https://www.xda-developers.com/chrome-os-android-apps-usb-drive/ google will be soon rolling out patch for USB access.

Can someone please tell me the feasibility of using USB camera stream using Android Application in Chrome OS.

Thanks.
Gokul.

you're trying to use the camera built into the chromebook, or you're trying to attach your own USB camera ?

Actually I've been meaning to file a bug about this as it seems that
UVC attached devices such as usb webcams or in my case hdmi->usb
dongles are not even working properly in Chrome, both on a couple of
Chromebooks I have here (pixelbook on beta channel v68, asus flip)
*and* on a ubuntu 16.04 laptop running Chrome 69, though the devices
are accessible just fine via native linux apps on ubuntu on same
laptop.

Interesting thing is that in Chrome on Ubuntu and on the Pixelbook,
using something like the live demo for WBS
(https://github.com/t-mullen/Web-Broadcasting-Software) the UVC device
*does* show up in the list of available audio/video sources, but if
selected, the video feed that is displayed is actually just for the
builtin webcam not from the UVC source.

Mike should I be filing these as bugs in the chromium bug tracker?

thanks,
Maks.

yes, it'd help if you could file bugs for these and then file feedback reports with the devices attached
