No it's not - the ChromeOS boot process is very different to a normal PC
(in a couple of ways the C710 isn't fully "PC compatible" insofar as
that is still a real thing).
Newer x86 chromebooks allow you to use the 'ctrl-l' combination at
power-on to boot via the traditional PC boot process, but on the C710,
if you want to use something which is expecting a PC OS boot process,
then you currently need to change the BIOS for one which uses
coreboot+seabios, such as the ones built by John Lewis. I think this is
off-topic here because it doesn't have much to do with ChromiumOS, so
I'd more further discussion elsewhere...
