Can anyone try different kernels that may be compatible (i.e. Ubuntu 64 bit kernels) to see if we can get another 64-bit port, because the 2009 one is long gone and wayyyy out of date.
When attempting to boot on 64-bit PCs, you get a grub console which has a very limited list of commands. The command "boot" yields a "No kernel found" or something of the like.

If we can at least achieve boot, then we could work towards a fully compatible port.

the ToT ChromiumOS already fully supports 64bit. all
chromebooks/chromeboxes that are shipping today work in 64bit mode
(even though some devices are still using with 32bit ports).

ToT? What's that? I mean a Hexxah .img build for personal use, not a new netbook purchase.

ToT is an three letter acronym (TLA) for Tip of Tree which in turn
refers to the latest development source tree.

when it comes to binary releases, there are no official builds, only
what random people decide to put together and host themselves. such
as hexxeh.

For example, we've had an 'amd64-generic' build configuration for...well, quite some time now.  That has a 64 bit kernel and userspace, and always has.

In that case, could you point me to it? Thanks

What do you mean, 'point you to it'?

Follow the build instructions at http://www.chromium.org/chromium-os/developer-guide and use 'amd64-generic' instead of 'x86-generic' when it comes time to select a board.

Sorry, assumed you meant an AMD 64-bit build was available (as in the .img file).

As Mike said earlier in the thread

what random people decide to put together and host themselves.  such

That didn't change between his comment and mine.

I think I might get on Hexxeh's case on this.

I never asked for a build from chromium.org. I asked about Hexxeh.net. Stop being so snappy.

"ToT? What's that? I mean a Hexxah .img build for personal use, not a new netbook purchase."
Spelled Hexxeh wrong, though.
