Can I install Chrome OS on my laptop?

I've wanted to install Chrome OS on my Windows Laptop since 1803

Keep seeing references to it

Reared its ugly head again

Like it says in the article, this isn't Google's ChromeOS per say, but it's pretty close.

pedantic: no, you can't install Chrome OS.  that's only available on official Chrome OS devices.  please see our FAQ:

you can install Chromium OS, the open source variant.  the Chromium OS projects has builds/docs available, but they aren't terribly user friendly (not by design, but because no one has spent much time on it).

if you aren't interested in getting your hands dirty, you'll probably want to check out something like Neverware:
