Hello!
My issue is that when I go to the login screen and press ctrl + alt + F3 on my keyboard the screen just goes blank. If I press ctrl + alt + F2 it goes back to the login screen. Can you help me? Thank you.

I don't really know, but I think I'm running Chrome OS in developer mode.

Just to test if you are indeed in ChromeOS and in developer mode, what happens when you go press CTRL + ALT + T while on the desktop and type "shell"

I followed the instructions for both the normal and x86 systems but both times when I pressed ctrl + U or ctrl + L, respectively, the chromebook just beeped really loud and nothing else happened.

if Ctrl+L is beeping, and you made sure dev_boot_legacy=1 is set, then your system doesn't currently support legacy boot.  you need to update the firmware first.

if Ctrl+U is beeping, and you made sure dev_boot_usb=1 is set, then you're not inserting USB media that is formatted using a CrOS supported layout.  that will only boot CrOS media and not general USB images.
