chromeOS Verified Links

Hello,

At my job we currently have apps that are available for Android and chromeOS. We have integrated verified links and verified they are mostly working without issues when checking the play console and testing. The problem is, chromeOS never chooses app automatically. The user always has to choose this option even when the links are verified. We confirmed on Android this is not happened. Android seems to allow our app to have verified links that will open the app automatically without the user having to choose.

This all seemed to change in chromeOS Android 12. We have been looking for solutions but have not found any. This is a huge problem because we work with school districts. They may have 200-300 chrome books. They are not going to go through each chromebook and change the setting for our app.

If anyone has any information on why this is the way it is (chromeOS used to ask the user what to open the specific links we have in btw) or maybe can point us in the right direction if I am missing something, please do.

Has anyone else encountered this issue? Is there any documentation saying this is how its suppose to work?
