Hello everyone, I have a Asus c300 Chromebook and I want to boot it from a bootable USB so I can use it again, the ChromeOS is not recovering properly (see here for more info: https://productforums.google.com/forum/#!topic/chromebook-central/ayEzQk1fxcw).  I want to make it so I can plug in a USB with an ISO burned to it and boot from it.  The Chromebook doesn't have a hardware probelm, I have the 0x02 error when tab is pressed.  If I press control + D nothing happens.  How do I set my Chromebook to boot from a USB without access to ChromeOS?  I am fine with changing the BIOS.  If you are wondering what I would use, I was going to use GalliumOS or a lightweight Linux distribution.

please lookup your device in this table and follow the directions for enabling USB/legacy boot:

How do I do it without ChromeOS installed?  I want to get to the shell but the ChromeOS won't recover.

you cannot.  you have to go through recovery, then boot CrOS, then enable USB/legacy boot.
