if you're talking about accounts you log in to at the sign in screen,
then you can log in using any valid account (assuming you know the
user & password).
if you're talking about local accounts (i.e. unix accounts on the
machine itself), you need to switch to a vt, log in as root, and then
use the standard Linux utilities for adding/managing accounts (which
in turn modify the files in /etc). make sure you remote / as
read/write first because the default is read/only and attempting to
modify those files results in obtuse errors (like failure to
manipulate authentication token).
