I am not sure if Nvidia will be able to help as they did not build the firmware. The truth is that not all Chromebooks are going to be getting the Google Play Store - This was made clear when the Play Store was first announced. There is really not anything that can be done about this.

There are many potential reasons - none which I am qualified to confirm - Some devices many not have the hardware requirements, some may be forced to use an older kernel which may prevent the ChromeOS VM from being ported, and some devices may not have enough using it to justify the work.

I suspect the final 2 are the reasons why the specific model you mentioned is not in scope to get the Play Store.

Alexandre,

Your posts are quite confusing...

There are lots of reasons that some Chromebooks do not support the Play Store.

This is no place to complain.

See this post by Frank Tedesco in this thread: https://productforums.google.com/forum/#!topic/chromebook-central/s6Br3w651YI

Howdy do,

There are technical reasons that some Chromebooks, slated for Google Play Store/Android Apps on ChromeOS, are not getting that sought-after capability. The reasons have to do with performance issues and the inherent capability of the "kernel".  Google will not release those Chromebooks to the Stable channel for Play Store until and unless those can be resolved.
When? We do not know.  Please understand that such issues are technical mountains, and occupy much Developer resource.
Until then, if your machine CAN run Play Store on the Dev or Beta Channels, just go with the glitches that may come along with the less-stable OS releases.

And bookmark this:

best,
f

He states info about Chromebook 'kernels'. Old Chromebooks have older kernels, which have limited capabilities to run the Play Store.

Hope this helps,

Alexandre,

Not sure why you just emailed me. Reply in this forum only please, thanks.

Also, please explain what you mean by this:
> In Abril This YEAR i stay more than 15 days STOP Black Screen  with BECAUSE CHROME OS with this chromebook and more than 100 students anout thgis little problem
I think you are referring to a bug (this one: https://bugs.chromium.org/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=821607) that was fixed in Version 66 of Chrome OS?

And, about this:
MORE MORE ESCUSE I SICK about this

Google is not here. This is a user-to-user forum. Any feedback reports may as well be sent via Alt + Shift + i. Do NOT spam the form.

These are the ONLY Chromebooks that will be getting Play Store, that is final. https://www.chromium.org/chromium-os/chrome-os-systems-supporting-android-apps

Hope this helps,

Why do you keep emailing me? Reply in the forum, please.

No, I did not decide whether your device gets the Play Store or not. It's up to the manufacturer (HP) and Google to decide.

You should have just bought a device that would be getting (or already has) the Play Store.

Nothing else that we can do, nothing else that HP or Nvidia can do (Nvidia shouldn't even be involved).

Sorry it doesn't seem fair to you, but here I am living just fine without the Play Store. Crouton / Ubuntu is all I need.

Nvidia is a factor in that they manage the graphics libraries, so any kernel upgrades need their direct support to maintain stability, and if the Android paths need features that CrOS isn't using (they tend to), that means even more work.

so your other generalities apply here too: getting it to work is not trivial or free unfortunately.

As explained, the only solution if you want ChromeOS with Android is to get a new device, That is all. Furthermore filing a bug is not going to solve anything as it is not a bug. Your Chromebook is not getting the play store as explained.

Alexandre,

Please STOP spamming this list with your rants.

As multiple people have explained to you, you purchased the HP chromebook without any reason to expect it to receive Play support, your continued demands come across as petulant.

If you would take the time to actually do some research on the matter, you would find that third parties have managed to get mainline kernels running on K1 chromebooks (https://kushaldas.in/posts/fedora-23-on-tegra-k1-chromebook.html) but given the amount of time and engineering resources that would be required for this to be done on a production basis for ChromeOS, it is *not* going to happen for an obsolete model by HP or Google.

I would suggest you devote your time and energy supporting a community based effort to port ChromiumOS with a 4.4 or newer kernel to the K1 chromebooks (once it becomes possible to bring up a Android container on a ChromiumOS build) rather then continuing to spam people on this and other forums.

Hey Mike, thanks for the correction.

I am in agreement with Keith and Makism. They are both correct.

> As multiple people have explained to you, you purchased the HP chromebook without any reason to expect it to receive Play support, your continued demands come across as petulant.

To add on to that statement, your complaints are NOT seen by HP, Acer, Nvidia, Google, or whoever. Demanding will probably result in people ignoring you.

Your 'spam' triggers notifications in my email, which it's probably best to stop now.

Sorry, that's how it is. Next time, it's probably better to research about what product you are purchasing instead of literally going into this with no information whatsoever.

These are not excuses, they're just the facts.

I really think you need to find another place to troll.

Many members have answered your questions and you refuse to accept the answer. You demand Justice yet no crime was committed.

Your device was never sold with the promise of the Google Play Store so no false advertisements. Google announced that "select older devices" will be getting it and thus released a list of those devices - again no promises of your device.
