Hi all,

I'm working for a company which producing Interactive White Board (IWB) for educations. In fact, IWB is a touchscreen for input and a projector for display. The touchscreen is based on USB-HID, touch works on Chrome OS, but you know, the display of projector is always distorted, there're always offsets of touch coordinations.

Our customer and we are looking for a solutions to get IWB and Chrome OS works well together, 'cause both them are popular on education. Any one can give me some suggestions?

The biggest problem is in the IWB providers not registering the IWB as a Standard HID...  SMART doesn't work, Promethean doesn't work. I'm glad that you're company realizes the potential of Chromebooks.  I am the IT Director of a School District in Colorado, and this is the biggest holdup we have to moving our staff to Chromebooks.

In my opinion Schools are better off finding a TouchScreen Monitor than an IWB (and lower overall TCO).

For the touchpad itself there are controls:
chrome://settings
chrome://settings/pointer-overlay
That little bit about "Australian scrolling" was key for me: in other places, it is called "natural scrolling"

As for interaction: What level of interaction are you hoping to accomplish with your product?  Something simple like only Mouse Control from the board, or do you intend to produce a product, like SMARTNotebook and SMARTInk to allow creation and manipulation of elements and use of the Board like a traditional WhiteBoard? For the latter, we are using an extension that turns any website into a WhiteBoard, but it's still in Beta.  I would love to see it polished with a more natural interface.  The link is: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/whiteboard-beta/blmkcmjafbbmbahfgdlgncbfjkmanemm

Best of luck to you.  I hope that you do are able to accomplish your goals, both for your own benefit and for the Chromebook Education community at large.
