Dear ChromiumOS Team,

I’ve encountered an issue with the built-in Pinyin IME on ChromeOS and would like to check whether this is expected behavior or a bug.

When CapsLock is enabled, typing uppercase letters in Pinyin IME results in spaces being automatically inserted between each character.
For example:
  • Input: HELLO
  • Output: H E L L O
This happens consistently for any uppercase input while using the Pinyin IME.

This issue occurs even when I am intentionally typing uppercase Pinyin (not switching to English input).
I have already disabled all related options I can find in input method settings but the behavior still persists.

The issue only appears when CapsLock is on. Lowercase input works as expected. I'm also attaching the screen recording for this issue.

I'd like to know is there any way to disable this automatic spacing? Thank you very much!

Best Regards,
Wenxiang Qian

the mailing list isn't really for reporting bugs like this.  please see the docs for how/where to report instead:
