If you are reporting an issue or looking for troubleshooting help, please provide the following information and a detailed description of your issue:

Chrome OS Version (Type chrome://help in your browser window's address bar. Copy and paste the first three lines you see here.):

ChromeOS Version 41.0.2272.89 (64-bit)
Platform 6680.64.0 (Official Build) stable-channel peppy_freon
Firmware Google_Peppy.4389.89.0
Linux kernel 3.8.11

Chromebook Model (Example: Chromebook Pixel, HP Chromebook 11, etc.):

Acer C720P Chromebook, 2 GB RAM, 32 GB SSD storage, Intel(R) Celeron(R) 2955UFirmware Google_Peppy.4389.89.0

Issue description:

my Acer C720P Chromebook is in dev mode.

i have a device that connects to the Chromebook via USB, it is a hobbiest baard, a beaglebone black rev. c (http://beagleboard.org/black).

normally, on Mac OS X and Win system, the beaglebone, which runs on Debian Linux 7.4, when connected via USB, automatically bridges the internet connection from the host computer over USB to the beaglebone black board. this doesn't happen on the Chromebook. i can ssh in a Secure Shell on the Chromebook to the beaglebone at its permanent set address, 192.168.7.2. - but i cannot share internet over the USB from the Chromebook via bridging.

does anyone know how to bridge and share the internet coming from the Chromebook over to a device like the beaglebone? including any sort of linux-fu in the terminal stuff underneath? please advise. thank you in advance for any help.

best,

i don't think shill has support for this sort of thing which means most likely you would need to do it yourself.  i.e. configure your Chromebook to be a router, enable ip forwarding, and add appropriate iptables rules for NAT-ing IPv4.
