Change Device Name- Chromebook

Hi everyone,

With the recently released Vmware View extension it opened up the chromebook to work with the system much better, however in all of our installations with View there is a script that runs to match the client machine name to a printer, so users can get printers based on which physical client they log into. 

The volatile information on the chromebook shows a nice long string as the device ID, which I assume is pulling from the chromebooks device name. I am looking for a way to rename this, from my reading so far it looks like it may have to be done from a Dev shell, any assistance would be greatly appreciated, you would be helping quite a few school districts in the process!
