My Chromebooks gives me an ultimatum.
Option1:
I give my wi-fi password to the login screen, without a care in the world as to if this process is the one it appears to be, Or a process pretending to be a login screen.
This means the option to "allow other users of this device to use the network" (of which there ought to be none besides me) is enabled - along with guest login and a strange intel IP address that isn't even initially in my lan.
Option 2- Have my chromebook "effortlessly" scan my network using bluetooth. Scan a QR code with my phone. Then it maps every device in and around my network within 50+ meter radius. At which point my wifi password get's shared most likely in clear text anyway and stored NOT SURE where but ok.
And while i ponder about those two seamless options, i am berrated with messages for chromevox or demo mode depending on a coin toss for all i know.
This isnt easier to use for some people. It's a major compromise of human decency to those of us TRIED to follow best standard practices for years. Now all i can think about is how all those warnings of dont do XYZ, ABC, just was all a test or sick game.
